Understanding this verse

Simple meaning

Krishna gently tells Arjuna that he is talking wisely but grieving for what doesn't deserve grief. The wise don't lose themselves in grief for the living or the dead, because the true self doesn't end.

In real life

After losing a grandparent, a young woman holds on to the values they taught her and carries them forward, finding comfort instead of only pain.

Someone stuck in regret over a past breakup realises they are mourning a version of life that was never meant to be, and slowly lets go.

Try this today: Write down one thing a person you've lost gave you that still lives in you.

Helps with:Grief & loss
