Understanding this verse

Simple meaning

Krishna names three gates that lead a person to ruin: uncontrolled desire, anger and greed. They destroy your inner self, so guard against them.

In real life

A business owner cuts corners on quality to earn a little more. Greed slowly destroys the trust his family business took decades to build.

A student who loses her temper often notices it is hurting her friendships, and starts working on it deliberately.

Try this today: Ask yourself honestly: which of the three, desire, anger or greed, trips me up most? Pick one small way to guard against it this week.

Helps with:Anger
