नेतृत्व

Leading by example, and working for something bigger than yourself.

Explanations in
Bhagavad Gita 3.21 →

यद्यदाचरति श्रेष्ठस्तत्तदेवेतरो जनः। स यत्प्रमाणं कुरुते लोकस्तदनुवर्तते॥

For whatever a great man does, others imitate; people conform to the standard he has set.

Simple meaning

Krishna says that whatever a respected person does, others follow. The standard they set becomes the standard for everyone around them.

An elder sibling who reads every night unknowingly turns the younger one into a reader too.

Try this today: Think of one person who looks up to you. What is one habit you'd want them to copy? Practise it visibly.

Bhagavad Gita 3.25 →

सक्ताः कर्मण्यविद्वांसो यथा कुर्वन्ति भारत। कुर्याद्विद्वांस्तथासक्तश्िचकीर्षुर्लोकसंग्रहम्॥

As the ignorant act, out of their fondness for action, so should the wise act without attachment, fixing their eyes, O Arjuna, only on the welfare of the world.

Simple meaning

Krishna says the wise should work as hard as anyone else, but without attachment, keeping the good of the world in view. Their motivation is service, not ego.

In real life

A successful founder keeps working long after she's financially secure, now focused on creating jobs and mentoring others.

A retired teacher volunteers to tutor village children, bringing the same energy he had at work but with no personal gain in mind.

Try this today: Ask about your current work: who besides me benefits from this? Let that answer motivate you today.
